Let The Experience Begin!
ChiTAG 2011 started off with a powerful combination of color and excitement on the opening day with a magnificent fireworks display at the Chicago Navy Pier to compliment it in the evening.
In my own expereince at ChiTAG
2011, my first impulsive reaction to the kaleidoscope visual
excitement was literally overwhelming. It was a like a child in
a candy store for the very first time. So much to take in and such
an eagerness to explore it all, but where does one begin? Sights
and sounds were a plenty with everything from R/C flying fish in
the air, to children getting creative with Citiblocs.
Everywhere you look there was something new to see or do.
One of the most prominent figures of attention at ChiTAG
2011 was John Spinello, creator of one of the most well known
games for multiple generations, "Operation®". This
is one of the limited few games that has earned its place in the
halls of innovation, to be remembered by many for years to come.

In this game you have to have nerves of
steel to remove tiny plastic organs from the patient with a
pair of tweezers.
The challenge comes into play when you consider that the area
to remove each organ/body part, has next to no room for you
to perform the task without touching the metal edges of the
area. When the tweezers make contact, well, BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
I guess you fail at being a surgeon.
Mr. Spinello was one of several well known top innovative product developer guests at the Top Trumps booth. |
A Little Something For Everyone!
No matter what the age of the person there is a little something for everyone. There is even a section for young inventors to show off their innovative ideas that they take proide in. This serves as a valuable asset to
Some of the many new products found were simple and inviting, while
others were nothing short of amazing and capture your heart in a
fraction of a moment. ChiTAG continues to be such a diverse
assemblage of creativity and talent; a buyer's delight!
In the images above you can see some of the excitement and activity with kids and mothers at ChiTAG 2011. It is so clear to see that this was more than just vendors selling their wares, it was an experience that was being enjoyed.
