Our Privacy Statement

ChildSafe International™, (hereafter referred to as "CSI™"), has created this privacy statement, in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following content, discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for these websites:

The information garthered is in accordance with Federal Trade Commision, (FTC), guidelines set forth in the Child Online Privacy Protection Act, (COPPA). 

Although CSI™ is the organization that made the word ChildSafe™ a household word, we still uphold the belief of participating in our work as a TEAM effort.  That is where the word "International" comes into play. CSI has offices in multiple countries across the globe and will continuing to open new offices as part of our ChildSafe Outreach™ program. Our representatives in other countries have played a vital part in the monumental success we can enjoy today in our efforts to fight the predators and re-educate people about the solutions available to fight these ever present dangers. It is because of efforts by others such as the FTC, SurfSafely, SafeSurf, CSIGA™ and multiple other organizations and persons, that we were able to accomplish that task.

Information Gathered From Your Visit

The information below is how we handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website. The information we receive depends on what you do when you visit our site.  For each visitor to our Web page, we collect aggregate information on what pages our users access or visit, etc. ( see list below ).  We also acquire information via personal information volunteered by the user, such as surveys, on-site registrations, and personal information volunteered by the consumer on our various iWatchDog™ Program and ICCS™ Certification forms. The information which we collect is based upon where you visit when on our web site.  We compile a database each month related to our users which tells us about our services being used by each visitor as follows:

The information we collect is used for internal review only.  The information is used to improve the content of our Web page, help diagnose any difficulties we may encounter with our server, and to administer our Web site in a proficient manner with the least amount of inconvenience to our users. We record past activity at our site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site, yet fall within the scope of our content guidelines, which in turn are in accordance with regulations set forth by the Federal Trade Commission and other laws we enforce or administer.  None of the information collected is shared with other organizations for commercial purposes or gain.

 
Definition of a Cookie
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website can place on your computer's hard drive in order, for example, to collect information about your activities on the site or to make it possible for you to use an online "shopping cart" to keep track of items you wish to purchase. CSI™ will do everything in our power to protect the privacy of information provided to us on this website and will never deliberately share your personally identifiable information with any third party (except as required by law) without your consent. In such cases an email will be sent to you requesting your permission to release personal information.  We never require anyone to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to make use of any services CSI™ has to offer and serve our customers in a proficient manner.

Contact / Certification / Licensing / eNews Subscription, and Product Review Forms

Our site's various registration forms require users to give us contact information which helps us determine the demographics of the users we are serving, (ie; corporate, household, etc.). This information helps us serve our users more effectively. We use customer contact information from the registration forms to send the user information about our organization, important issue information, as well as confirm information about the user's web site. This information is aggregated when you choose the "opt-in" option in the ICCS™ Certification forms. Users may opt-out of receiving any mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

This site contains links to many other sites. Although CSI tries to review every single link to make sure it is of ChildSafe content, we cannot provide any guarantee of the content on external links.  CSI is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external link Web sites.

Web Site Sponsor Links

When you click on any of our sponsor image links, your IP address, the time of your visit, and the web browser you are using will be logged. This information is forwarded to the sponsor for each corresponding link clicked on, in order to compile statistical reports about our web site in order to serve both our sponsors and our visitors more effectively.

Forums

If you choose to register for our forums, a valid email address in required. Our forums moderated on a spot check basis as well as periodic long term moderation and we reserve the right to remove any post we deem inappropriate, as well as any user account which is being used inappropriately.

Fraudulent Activity

It is our intention to keep your information safe. Any form of fraud, or attempts for identity theft will not be tolerated. We will release any information necessary to comply with the law nad work with law enforcement agencies across the globe, to protect our most vauable asset, our visitors

 

iWatchDog Program

This web site exercises participation in the iWatchDog™ Program, which is a service of CSI™.   We agree to acknowledge user complaints and report back to users in the event of a complaint filed against our web site.  This will be carried out with a clear account of our position in the matter to the user no later than 10 days from the notification of our alleged violation. In the event we discover that we were in violation with our user, we will seek to resolve the matter in a prompt and ethical manner in our user's best interests. 

This web site agrees to monitor our users and if any suspicious or offensive activity is discovered within our site, or a ICCS™ licensee site, we will file a iWatchDog™ Complaint form in order to initiate action to verify the validity of the complaint.  The same rule applies to any ICCS licensed site we discover is in violation of ICCS™ guidelines.

Public Forums

This site makes of an an external GuestBook available to it's users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. The external GuestBook made available to our users, is spot checked on a periodic basis.  Improper conduct is not tolerated!!.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control via our Internet Service Provider.  We exercise strong measures in the security of your privacy and personal information.

Children's Guidelines

If you are a child, we have pooled together a collection of guidelines we strongly suggest you follow.  As for parents, please review these guidelines with your children to help minimize any risk of your child using the Internet.

I will NOT provide online contact information without prior parental consent or parental notification, which will include an opportunity for my parents to prevent use of the information and participation in the activity. Without prior parental consent, online information must only be used to respond directly to the child's request and will not be used for other purposes without prior parental consent.

  2. I will NOT provide personally identifiable offline contact information without prior parental consent

  3. I will NOT give the ability to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information without prior parental consent.

  4. I will NOT be enticed by the prospect of a special game, prize, or other activity without prior parental consent.

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we request information about the visitor on our forms.
