    LieBRARY - Catalyst of Creativity and Challenge

LiEBRARY, (created by actresses Daryl Hannah and Hilary Shepard), isn't just another board game, rather it is a game which provides challenge which stimulates a player to call upon their creative thinking and skills, develop a strategy to win, and implement it.

In the game, players listen carefully as they are given the title and a summary of the book which has been selected by the LiEBRARIAN. Their task is then to create their own first line for the book and fool other players to vote for it to be the first line of the book. Book categories include Classics, Children's, Fiction/Nonfiction, Romance, and Mystery/Sci-Fi/Horror.

(If a player knows the actual first line of the book, they can write it as their line, but remember, the other players may not be familiar with that line and not vote for it.)

After all players have written their guesses, they are all turned in to the "LiEBRARIAN" face down, to be shuffled then read out loud to be voted upon. Once all of the lines have been read, the LiEBRARIAN reveals the real first line of the book and points are awarded. This is just the start...



    Of Course There Is More To The Game!

Of course there is more to the game silly! First of all, there is a two-minute timer that comes into play. Players have two-minutes to make their guesses and create their lines on their answer sheet.

  • One point is given to each player for each vote their line received
  • Two points are given to each player for guessing the correct line
  • Three points are given to the LiEBRARIAN if no one votes for the correct line

With this game you are looking at a plenty of fun, strong social interaction, and serious engagement in creativity! You can't just kick back and play LiEBRARY, the game draws you in and generates plenty of momentum to have a slap happy experience of fun and excitement!

    Consumer Hands-On Evaluation

 
Nothing is more powerful than hands-on experience by a consumer with a product when it is under evaluation. Based upon that fact we put a number of products we currently are slated to evaluate at the mercy of consumers in a hands-on evaluation where anything goes. The information to follow will explore the responses from the participants in our spontaneous hands-on consumer evaluation of the products available for their review.

LiEBRARY was a different kind of creature with this spontaneous consumer hands on-evaluation. Who would ever have imagined LiEBRARY being used for spontaneous hands-on consumer evaluation, but also with the participating staff and patients including myself as one of the patients!

When I first made the request to my nurse to inquire if any of the other patients or staff wanted to participate in this part of our evaluation, she inquired if I was kidding. Well, 3 hrs and 11 minutes later, the shift was changing and dinner had just arrived for the patients. While normally the spontaneous consumer hands on evaluation events are quite similar with a few special moments to remember, but this experience was like no other.

 

 

Changing The Atmosphere

It turns out that having LiEBRARY there for people to play changed the entire atmosphere for many of us. Instead of laying there debating with the other patients in the room what program we would watch next, the majority of us as well as two staff members were having a real riot of a time. Simple to play, not taking up a lot of space, and so easy put away quickly, LiEBRARY made a lot of people feel good, and forget about our pain, or for the staff, oops! work that needed to be done.

Amtrack Meets LiEBRARY

If that wasn't enough to give a good reading on LiEBRARY, a week later I went with my team of volunteers down to Union Station in Los Angeles, the Amtrack Station. We made the assumption that with so many people sitting there bored stiff while waiting for their train to arrive or board it, this was the perfect location for a spontaneous hands-on evaluation.

It seemed like just moments had turned into hours as we were playing LiEBRARY with a number of the travellers, just having fun. People would come and people would go, many of them willing to sit down and play LiEBRARY with one of our volunteers.  Even a conservative looking woman who was quiet as a mouse was eventually responding and giggling with each draw of the cards.

In Conclusion...

After our compiling the results from the feedback forms, LiEBRARY was a gem in the eyes of those who participated in playing, even a few who were just watching! They expressed how they wished they had opted in to play LiEBRARY instead of evaluating another game which was available to evaluate. LiEBRARY passed this evaluation segment smoothly and quite favorably.

Whether in a high school, at a trade show, with a family at home, or even a hospital, LiEBRARY was perfectly applicable for use in each environment and was even authorized for use at a public high school and a specialty hospital for life threatening health concerns. Despite the stronger and more challenging evaluation standards recently adopted, LiEBRARY still managed to pass our evaluation in this category.

Skill improvement is vital for every individual with no exceptions. LiEBRARY provides a substantial contribution to a furtherance of each player's cognitive, physical, and social skills. MARKETABILITY is a home run for LiEBRARY. When you consider Daryl Hannah and Hilary Shepard being the creators of LiEBRARY, that there in itself speaks volumes. We look at that factor then move on to the other elements we need to consider in the marketability of a product.

LiEBRARY is a game that has all the right elements to really move. LiEBRARY has a very strong potential to pull ahead of the rest of the pack. Considering the incredible game design, FunFactor™, HybridUse™, individual skill improvement, and of course Daryl Hannah and Hilary Shepard in the mix, LiEBRARY pulls a screaming perfect score of [5] Stars in this category for MARKETABILITY.


VISUAL APPEAL: Rating Level - [4.5] an image of 4.5 gold  stars

VISUAL APPEAL posed an interesting challenge in our evaluation of LiEBRARY. The internal components of LiEBRARY raise even higher than well above average. Combined with the game box and platform you see an a visually appealing product which is above average, yet just not enough punch to get to the next digit.

With our new evaluation standards, visual appeal is a very strong factor in our evaluation process. The challenge here is that while we may fully understand the idea which the creators of LiEBRARY had in mind in regard to visual appeal, not everyone sees it through the same pair of glasses.

After several months of evaluation, analysis, and feedback, LiEBRARY finally made it in the gates with a passing score in this evaluation category of [4.5] stars for VISUAL APPEAL. The packaging for LiEBRARY is without question appealing yet just not enough to make us do any flips...(Well, maybe a flip or two.)
